ARIA’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a bridge between our PHP and Outpatient.
If you or someone you care about has been battling a substance use problem, you are probably aware that there is a broad range of treatment programs available. Many addiction treatment centers, including Addiction Recovery Institute of America, offer the full spectrum of treatment options, from medically supervised detox and residential care to outpatient programs and aftercare. As a result, when selecting a course of treatment that is right for you, it can be difficult to know where to begin. At ARIA, one of our most important and successful offerings is our intensive outpatient treatment program, which you will sometimes find referred to as an “IOP.
”This program is ideal for clients who are ready for more freedom than they will find in a residential treatment program and who will benefit from the flexibility that the program allows. That said, our intensive outpatient program also provides a highly structured environment and the support that you would expect from a full-time treatment program. Through the intensive therapy program offered as a part of the IOP, you will work closely with our addiction specialists and your peers in recovery at the center as you develop healthy routines and coping skills you will need to avoid relapse. At ARIA, our goal is simple: to give you the tools you need to find meaningful, genuine recovery from the damaging effects of drugs and alcohol through our IOP in Florida.

WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?
An intensive outpatient program, clients receive a high level of care while living at home or in a sober living facility. Clients in an IOP can work, attend school, and fulfill familial and social obligations while getting the help they need. Medically supervised detoxification and other kinds of residential treatment are often an excellent first step on the road to recovery, especially for individuals with severe substance use problems or whose addictions are fueled by serious co-occurring mental conditions. However, there are some unique benefits to an intensive outpatient program for individuals who have already been through detox and residential care, or whose substance abuse issues are not severe enough to merit around-the-clock supervision. If you are wondering if an intensive outpatient program might be the right level of care for you or the person in your life suffering from addiction, a good starting place is to ask the following questions:
- Does the client have a solid understanding of the stressors and triggers that could make them want to turn to drugs and alcohol? Do they understand the root causes of their addiction?
- Have they already begun to develop the coping skills they need to handle these triggers and stressors?
- Has the individual completed a detox program, a residential treatment program, or a partial hospitalization program?
- Does the client have a supportive, structured home life that is conducive to recovery?
- Have they developed a social support network outside of the addiction treatment center?
- Does the individual have outside responsibilities that they must fulfill, like school, work, or childcare?
If you can answer “yes” to the above and if that profile describes your situation or that of a loved one, intensive outpatient treatment might be the right choice for you at our substance abuse treatment center.
